Lithium - Nirvana

Dato curioso:

MTV le pidió al grupo Nirvana que interpretara su arrollador éxito "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (ganador de dos premios en la ceremonia), pero la banda había dicho que tocarían dos canciones nuevas, "Rape Me" y "tourette's". Esto no fue del agrado de los ejecutivos del canal, quienes siguieron presionando al grupo para que interpretaran "Teen Spirit". Finalmente, el canal les dio la opción de tocar "Lithium", lo cual la banda aceptó. Sin embargo, al comenzar su presentación, Kurt Cobain tocó los primeros acordes de "Rape Me" ante el horror de los ejecutivos, aunque finalmente interpretaron las canciones que se habían acordado en un comienzo. Casi al acabar su presentación y enojado por el mal funcionamiento de su amplificador, el bajista Krist Novoselic lanzó su bajo al aire. Desafortunadamente, el instrumento cayó sobre su propia frente, dejándolo tendido y aturdido sobre el escenario. Mientras tanto, Cobain comenzó a botar los equipos de la banda, al tiempo que el baterista Dave Grohl corrió hacia el micrófono y empezó a gritar repetidamente "Hi, Axl!".

All Apologies" es una canción de la banda de grunge Nirvana. Es la canción número 12 y la final (excluyendo la pista secreta que aparece en algunas ediciones del álbum, "Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flow through the Strip") y el segundo single (junto a "Rape Me") del álbum de 1993, In Utero.

Fue escrita en 1990, cuatro años antes de la muerte de su autor Kurt Cobain y la subsecuente disolución de Nirvana. -Leer + -

Una presentación en vivo de la banda de rock Nirvana en 1993, durante su presentación en MTV Unplugged. Fue lanzado en el álbum póstumo MTV Unplugged in New York al año siguiente.

La canción fue lanzada como un single promocional para el álbum, y recibió considerable aceptación en las estaciones de radio de rock alternativo. También fue altamente reproducida en canales de televisión musicales como MTV. (wikipedia)

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana

Que tal gente, para empezar este blog, lo hacemos con un hito del Rock y más que todo del Grunge (variación del grunge que predominó a principio de la década de los 90's), y es Smells like Teen Spirit, primer sencillo del album Nevermind (1991) del grupo Nirvana.

En lo que respecta al video, ya más de 15 años después se le considera uno de los mejores videos de la historia, y el mejor (sino es que uno de los mejores) de los 90's, no solo por el video en sí, sino por lo que esta canción y video iniciaron en aquella época, convirtiéndos en un himno de la Generación X. En su año ganó el mejor video de un Artista Nuevo y mejor video de un Grupo Alternativo. (D'nnis)
